Goes good with: Beach House, Yeasayer, Paper Route
The indie rock/dreampop trio On An On consists of three former members of the indie pop group Scattered Trees. The group is no stranger to SXSW. In fact, the three decided to form their act while waiting in line for Miike Snow at SXSW last year. Since then, they’ve been featured on multiple “who to watch” lists for 2013, and their buzz is continuing to gain traction.
Their debut album, Give In, dropped last week. The range of sounds and styles the group experiments with is extremely refreshing. There are moments when it feels like Beach House, there are moments when it feels like M83, there are moments when it feels like The Killers, but the band successfully breaks down these various elements from indie-rock, alternative, indie-pop and dream-pop and rebuilds them into a sound that’s distinct to them without being repetitive.
