StartupChicks was founded in February of 2009, following StartupWeekend (http://atlanta.startupweekend.org/). Our community founder, Jen Bonnett, noted the extreme dearth of women in attendance, and the various entrepreneurial events held in the Atlanta area.
Our Mission:
- 1. To Connect: build a worldwide movement of like-minded female founders.
- 2. To Grow: educate, coach and mentor entrepreneurs, accelerating their businesses.
- 3. To Inspire: aspiring female entrepreneurs to take the leap.
Since 2009, StartupChicks has grown from its original five founding members, to a network of over 800 ladies worldwide. We have 4 chapters (Sarasota, Florida, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia, and New York City, NY) with the intent of expanding to many more cities in 2014.
