Southern Fried SX is ready to showcase why Georgia is a great place for high growth technology companies, creativity, and innovation.
Southern Fried Happy Hour: 4-7pm
At 4pm, we kick off the Southern Fried Happy Hour at The Majestic in the heart of Sixth Street. Come early to get your grub on and enjoy the drinks while they’re flowing on our tab.
You’ll be able to plate up some BBQ glazed chicken with gorgonzola cream and fried onions, jambalaya rice balls with a remoulade, sweet corn hush puppies with chipotle honey, and fried macaroni cheese bites. Hungry yet?
While you’re filling your belly and quenching your thirst, you’ll be treated to the sounds World Famous G-Mack will be spinning on the DJ table. He’s turning the music of Georgia into a bonafide Southern Fried Sonic Expereince. You can find a little of everything ranging from Ray Charles and Otis Redding to 2Chainz and Outkast, as well as the Allman Brothers Band and REM to Zac Brown Band and Sugarland.
Mix and mingle with the tech companies, creatives, and tastemakers who call Georgia home. They’ll be representing the state proudly and be happy to show you what we’re building.
ChooseATL.com Guerilla Lantern Parade: 7-8pm
You can be part of SX history by marching in the first ever guerilla lantern parade. We’ll gather everyone up at the 7pm close of the Happy Hour for a spectacle we call the ChooseATL.com Lantern Parade.
This little slice of Atlanta culture will be easy to find. Look for the 5 person marching band, two 13-foot puppet lanterns, and 8 giant-sized star lanterns. If you’re willing to march, you can claim one of 50 specially made LED-lit lanterns and be part of history. (All thanks to our friends at MailChimp and Georgia Power.)
After the parade loops up and down Sixth Street, we’ll end up at the Startup Oasis Closing Party, hosted by UP Global and the Kauffman Foundation, running from 8pm-2am.
