Rumor Roundup and Line Up Additions – Round 4

Ed note: We come to you with Round 4 of SX 2014 artist rumors. View Round 1, Round 2 & Round 3. This list comes from @SXSWISLIFE. We love that we’re getting rumors from several different SX experts this year – it not only shows all the excitement for the fest, but also covers different genres. Know a SX secret not listed that you can share? The first big rumor going around this week is that Tycho will make an appearance since his tour kicks off in CA on March 19th and he is promoting his new album “Awake” – he does have a date in Austin on May 1st – if SX doesn’t end up happening, tickets are available for the May 1st show at The Parish now.

Roky Erickson and The Black Angels are touring together and in Houston on 2/28. Dallas will be the last stop on their tour on 3/01. Erickson usually does the the Ice Cream Social party at Threadgill’s ever year, so we expect to hear the announcement of that line-up again soon.

Breathe Carolina (along with Ghost Town and Jonny Craig) will most likely be stopping in Austin. They have a huge break from 2/16  3/10, a day off on 3/13, and a 3 day break from 3/16  3/18.

The Neighborhood plays the Downtown Phoenix Music Festival on 3/7 with no shows listed until 3/31 making them a SX possibility.

Indie-gogo band RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) will most likely be back – they have a break in their tour with (Aer and New Beat Fund) from 3/11 to 3/13.

Ty SegallWeekend and Astronautalis are easy guesses. They are all on the bill with several confirmed SXSW artists including Blouse, Cerebral Ballzy, Diarrhea PlanetDum Dum Girls, and Japanther for The Spillover Music Fest in Dallas on 3/16.

Rapper Hopsin has open days on 3/14 and 3/15 – could be a possibility for the Fader Fort this year.

South by So What at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie is going down on 3/16. It is likely that some bands might make an visit to Austin – the list includes Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Alpha & Omega, Between the Buried and Me, among many others.

Avant-garde group Xiu Xiu has a huge break in their schedule from 316  3/22. We can dream… right?

German synthpop band Kraftwerk is in Mexico City on 3/14 and has a break until their next show in LA 3/18 so can (again dream) about a SX appearance.

Dillinger Escape Plan and Trash Talk are touring together starting on 4/3 in NYC – which leaves SXSW open for both.

English indie rock outfit Foals (touring with Cage the Elephant) are on an overseas tour until 3/4 in support of their 3rd studio album “Holy Fire” – their schedule is wide open until 5/2. Cage the Elephant are out of the country until 2/19, but have an open schedule until 4/12.

Man Man is available after 2/23, and Blue October is available after 1/24. Both might be heading to SX.

Fest vets Warpaint just released their 2nd studio album on 1/17 – they have a gap in their tour from 3/2-3/20 making them a festival possibility.

We’d love if Lauryn Hill came to town – she’s on tour till 2/13, but we’ll keep it as an #SXWish.

Lastly, Grouplove and MSMR are on tour together with an open schedule during SX ’14.
