We asked our friends behind the popular Twitter account @SXSWhoa for the low down on what they’d pack to ensure fest success. Here’s a list of festival-must have items to get you prepared to party. Follow @SXSWhoa and @RSVPster for more party tips.
Between the film, music, and interactive parts of the festival, you can find yourself hitting the streets of Austin from March 13th to the final shows of music on March 22nd, and being out for 12 hours a day without a chance to make it back to your hotel room, AirBnB rental, or friend’s couch. It’s important to pack light, but there are definitely some things you may need in order to make your festival experience as comfortable as possible. There’s our list of essential must-have items for those long days and wild nights.
JanSport Backpack: It all starts with the foundation, a sturdy backpack. While a Jansport Backpack is definitely tried and true, there is also some great deals on some NEFF Backpack
if you are looking for something a little more stylish.
Wookie Pack Festival Survival Kit: Next up we’ve included the Wookie Festival Survival Kit, which includes all the medicine, bandages, ponchos, sunscreen, ear plugs, and other goodies in a light and affordable package. You never know when the next headache or allergy attack might hit so it’s good to always be prepared. Also, a thin plastic poncho will keep you dry during those surprise central Texas showers.
Sharpies: In case you find yourself face to face with your favorite artist, and want him to sign that new shirt you got from their merch booth.
Chapstick: Keep those lip silky smooth and crack-free while you’re singing along to all your favorite songs.
Mophie Case: Mophie has a very affordable Helium Case which can extend your phone’s battery life by nearly 80%. The less time you spend charging the more time you can be out there partying and listening to music.
Power Strip: Outlets always fill up fast at every single venue. Why wait for someone to finish charging when you can just make your own outlet? Great way to meet friends and spread the love too. Your phone will die. Make sure you are ready to keep it charged by always having a place to plug it in.
That’s about it — all-in-one festival survival kit. Your bag should also still have plenty of leftover room for your camera, wallet, and free swag you might pick up along the way — remember to stay safe, drink water, and have fun. Let’s party!
