Goes good with: The National, Interpol, The Helio Sequence

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Flagship is the combination of two earlier acts: Campbell the Band and solo singer Drake Margolnick. The band spent 2012 recording and releasing their debut EP blackbush and touring with The Wombats. This year, they’ll be performing on tour with Wolf Gang and A Silent Film.

The talent in these musicians is evident in every song I’ve heard thus far. The vocalist has an amazingly strong voice, they’re creative, they’re passionate, they’re catchy, their appeal is very apparent, and their music creates an atmosphere that had me wanting to hear more and more. Their tracks are of such high quality that I will be genuinely surprised if they are not huge within the next few years. Check them out at SXSW before they get big, and listen to “The Ladder” and “Hollywood Underwater” below.
