Hype Machine has taken over the former PureVolume House locale (this space is named Coppertank Events, but does anyone actually call it that?) on 5th and Trinity for blogger-booked parties every day of SX music. These shows have the bands you’ll be talking about most throughout the fest, and it’s where we’ll camped out for most of the week (and not just for the free Doritos/Taco Bell/Miller Light).

We’ve got some SX-rumor/link round-up/news on some of the bigger events for you — If you haven’t heard (or haven’t been following us on Twitter — do this now), the IFC Crossroads House will be at SX again this year with parties/happy hours every day/evening located at Vice on 6th, but they aren’t hosting an RSVP this year. Instead, their Monday (3/11) and Tuesday (3/12) events will be open to all/free, and their Wednesday (3/14), Thursday (3/15), Friday (3/16) events require a badge/wristband to attend. Follow IFCSXSW on Twitter for party updates, we’ve added their schedule on the spreadsheet, or you can view it here.
The Perez Hilton Party aka One Night in Austin is going to be an official, badge only show. We might know where to direct you if you’re media (and not just using fake work info), but word is there will not be public RSVP. We’re sorry, Perez fans, but as Austin360 aptly put — it’s being held at Austin Music Hall — “the venue where sound quality goes to die” — so maybe you’re not missing out too much.
Finally, we can’t share details quite yet, but we heard about a massive, unofficial show in an unexpected, away from downtown location happening all day/night till 4AM on Saturday 3/17. We’ll be able to post in greater detail soon, but for now, you should all just be getting ready to party (hard).
