We’ve been watching these party announcements long enough now to predict what happens when word gets out — in short, the Internet explodes — usually around 2PM on a weekday (marketing companies all know this is a prime work-procrastination hour, and people be tweetin’). This happened today with the onslaught of events taking over Lustre Pearl/Cedar Street (and Bar 96) presented by Filter Magazine, and Dickies (wear your Dickies, skip lines – may we suggest the High Visablity Safety Vest). Always a favorite event of SXSW, the publication that promises us “Good music will prevail” has each locale for three days of badge-free day shows with wristband/badge required night parties. Filter – we’re impressed, and judging by the barrage of tweets complaining when the link went down today, we’re not the only ones dying to get in the door.
Anyone else feel like Built to Spill is quickly becoming the busiest/most booked band of SXSW ’12? Playing every party worked already at least with us, totally listened to You In Reverse today — that is, when we weren’t singing Criminal (Fiona Apple at Pitchfork Showcase!) Party Link. PS: this doesn’t send out a confirmation email that you’ve been RSVPed.
Many good things about this flyer, but the best part is the free BBQ everyday at noon. BBQ for breakfast, y’all. RSVP link (again, no email confirmation).
Back to the grind – remember, if you have a party, we love being in the know. We also changed up the log-in system today, if you are having drama – please email. We created a space for work info to be included on your profile — learned the hard way that making 300 of your Google employees was a bad move (knew we should have used Facebook). See you all in your safety vests!
