Site news:

The Facebook RSVP app should be up and working for everyone. Pro-tip: sign-out of your FB account first, then use. Be on the look out for an email this week about RSVPs coming as a digest and be sure you’re following us on both Facebook and Twitter. We’re adding to the party calendar daily – every event listed below (as well as over 300 others!) are listed on the calendar, which you can view by day/week, and can export to iCal/gCal. In case you missed it, check out our guide to attending the fest, which details how official vs unofficial events operate and addresses common questions.

Unofficial party news:

The wait is over for the Hype Hotel RSVP, but line-up announcements are still to come. This year, Hype Machine’s Hype Hotel, which is sponsored by Taco Bell, moved to 505 E. 7th St. The event is curated by Consequence of Sound, I Guess I’m Floating, yvynyl, Ears of the Beholder, Gorilla Vs. Bear, Yours Truly, Crack In The Road, Disco Naïveté, Cruel Rhythm, ISO50 and No Fear of Pop. With 5 days of afternoon and evening events, Hype Hotel offers a non-stop party of TBA acts. The event requires a wristband pick-up for entry to the free day parties (noon – 6PM) and badges/fest wristbands are needed for entry for the night events (8PM – 2AM).

The mtvU Woodie Awards RSVP has finally hit after Complex announced last week that Bleachers, Vic Mensa and Childish Gambino would headline the event. The Woodie voting is up on their site with details on each category and nominee. The show itself airs on 3/16, the taping is on 3/13 on the corner of Red River and 1st, and admission open to the public and badge holders subject to capacity. First come first serve – we’d suggest getting in line early.

Speaking of Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover, the fest announced that he would headline the free Butler Park show on Saturday (3/16). This performance is part of his Deep Web Tour, presented by WordPress.com, in support of his newly released album, Because the Internet. All Butler Park events require an SX Guest Pass for entry, which are free, and can be picked at various locations in Austin before the festival begins or at select events during the festival.

The early morning shows hosted by Austin radio stations KUTX and KGSR are always a unique experience — if you’re still up from the night before or if you’re a 6AM riser —  these shows, which both benefit charities, offer the rare chance to catch artists outside of the typical packed venue.

The KGSR announcement includes two dozen acts including Suzanne Vega, London Grammar, The Mowgli’s, The Hold Steady and The 1975. The shows take place at the W Hotel beginning at 6AM Wednesday-Friday, March 12-14, and at 8AM on Saturday, March 15. A suggested donation of $5 at the door goes to Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas.

KUTX takes over the Four Seasons Hotel for their early morning broadcasts. See the full line-up and schedule with acts including Wild Child, Mother Falcon, Rodney Crowell, Lucius, Wye Oak and Tinariwen. Starting at 7AM each day from Wednesday (3/12) through Saturday (3/15), the event admission is $10 per day, which includes a breakfast taco (a must) and coffee. All proceeds benefit the Seton Shivers Cancer Center.

Pitchfork announced their SX events including a night at House of Vans at the Mohawk, two day parties at The French Legation Museum and an official showcase at Central Presbyterian Church. The Pitchfork events feature Fucked Up, Real Estate, Mark Kozelek, SOPHIE, Mutual Benefit, DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, Speedy Ortiz, Perfect Pussy, Coachwhips, Forest Swords, the Range, Kelela, Mark McGuire, Ex Hex, Indian, Lunice, Isaiah Rashad, Kylesa, Hundred Waters, Angel Olsen, Future Islands, Classixx, Power Trip, EMA, Mas Ysa, and more. All shows are all ages – the showcase requires a badge/wristband, the day parties are free with no RSVP (but here’s a Facebook page invite) and the No Mercy/House of Vans show is for SX badge holders/wristband-holders and tickets may be available at the door (depending on capacity). Follow @pitchforksxsw for updates.

On our radar:

Vice/Noisey – no word on what Vice might have planned for this year – the Viceland site from SX ’13 is still live. Be on the look out for a potential announcements soon.

Boiler Room x Ray Ban – the site from last year for this event is also still up, Boiler Room knows how to throw a good party, like their east side house party in ’12 (a fond/blurry  memory)  – we’re keeping a eye out to see what they have planned for this year.

Paste Magazine – word is Paste is hosting events during Interactive this year, which are soon to be announced.

Soundcloud – it’s looking like Soundcloud will be back at the same venue as they were last year, but no RSVP info up quite yet.

Rachael Ray Feedback – the Facebook page for the event suggest that it is definitely happening, but no announcements have been made for a line up or RSVP.

Mophie Hanger – the phone battery-charger (and festival must-have) company is hosting at several events at 1100 East 5th (across from the Fader Fort). The only one announced so far is Hard Fest – watch for details for a second night line-up to be announced soon.

Samsung – they bought Prince last year, what is in store for this year remains TBA.

VEVO – we came across what looks to be a placeholder RSVP page, so would not rule a VEVO party out completely yet.

Urban Outfitters – the backlot parties haven’t been announced yet, which are always great day parties – be on the look out for that.

MySpacethis RSVP page suggests (which is most likely a fake!) that @secretshow might indeed be coming back. Can we keep the Miley rumor going?

The TBA act of the iTunes Festmxdwn already figured it that Soundgarden is most likely taking the stage at ACL Live from an Apple newsletter mention of the band on the line up.

Perez Hilton’s One Night in Austin – the costs for the sponsorships – which range from $5k to $150k for a title sponsor – got leaked via the media packet for the party and the story was picked up on the Austin Business Journal – and the event will take place on 3/15 at Austin Music Hall. It remains to be seen who that sponsor cash will bring in for talent.
