#SXSWRumors: Rumor Roundup and Lineup Additions, Round 4 700 440 RSVPster

SXSW music week is now 25 days away, and everything is already starting to get crazy. This week was pretty big. SXSW released their schedule, a lot of lineups and day parties were announced, and the hype is through the roof. And this is only the beginning.

New lineup additions this week include The Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Paramore, deadmau5, !!!, A$AP Ferg, Skream, Divine Fits, Norma Jean, Emmylou Harris/Rodney Crowell and more.

Furthermore, SXSW will be revealing their Auditorium Shores lineups next week Tue-Thur, so keep an eye out for that. Filter will also be announcing 4 more parties next week. MySpace, HypeHotel, VICE, and IFC (happening at VICE bar on 6th, again) are all confirmed to be returning, so keep an eye on these because their lineups could be announced any day now.

Unfortunately, MWTX will not be returning, as confirmed through Fun Fun Fun Fest’s Twitter. The PureVolume House is rumored to not be returning as well, but has yet to be confirmed. We also hear that Spotify is doing big things that are still under wraps for now, but hopefully will have RSVP/line-up information soon.

Further additions and subtractions to the official lineup are to be expected, so keep an eye on SXSW’s band list for additional changes and follow me and @RSVPster on Twitter for updates.

Now about those rumors…

Justin Timberlake has been a rumor since he announced his comeback, but for the most part I’ve overlooked it, considered it improbable. However, with MySpace’s return confirmed, I’m beginning to consider it more likely. Last year, MySpace brought SXSW the free, open to the public, 10,000 person capacity Mumford & Sons/Edward Sharpe/Old Crow Medicine Show reunion, so obviously they’re open to putting on huge shows. Justin is also the co-owner of MySpace and has been heavily using the MySpace brand to promote Suit & Tie and his upcoming album. At this point, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Justin made a stop at SXSW (and maybe bring Jay-Z with him? That would make 2013 Jay-Z’s 3rd SXSW in a row).

I talked the other day about the Kanye West rumors that have been flying around. Well, an inside source has told me that Def Jam is discussing a possible GOOD Music showcase, similar to the ones in 2011 and 2009. Now, I’m not making any promises, because as far as I know it’s currently just being discussed, but it seems that Kanye might be returning after all  and there might be some truth to the Pusha T and Kid Cudi rumors that have been flying around as well.

Another inside source has informed me that there are a few showcases attempting to book Earl Sweatshirt and Casey Veggies. Whether or not this actually happens is still up in the air.

Out of nowhere yesterday a few people told me there was a rumor about Brand New coming to promote an upcoming album, but I haven’t heard anything that would hint towards that, so I’m really not sure what the likelihood is. But can’t a guy dream?

Looking at the 35Denton line-up also sparks rumors — Solange is on the line-up, and she has a date in NOLA & Houston right after, but does have a few days break which happen to fall during SXSW.

And finally, MTVU has announced their nominees for the Woodie Awards. Nominees include Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Jack White, Edward Sharpe, MGK, Grimes, The xx, fun., A$AP Rocky, Best Coast, Danny Brown, Skrillex, Death Grips, The Lumineers and more.  Some of these nominees will certainly be in attendance at the ceremony and festival, but the lineup is still a mystery. You can rule out fun. and A$AP Rocky because they’re both on tour during SXSW, but artists The Lumineers and Danny Brown have their schedules wide open, so we’ll just have to wait and see. You can view the full list of nominees here.
